no need for sub

I had a jl sub w/ spare tire in my car. I was using a 4 channel amp 2 for the sub and 2 for the fronts. I just bridged both channels 1&2 and then 3&4. Now with the extra power I've found I don't need any sub now. I think its the deep doors in the s and my old type x speakers that does it.
I couldn't disagree more... lol I have 3 ways in my doors and I can tell when the sub is off. Maybe you should send some extra time tuning the speakers better. But that's just my opinion, and if your happy without it, then happy listening

I've spent an amazing amount of time tuning my system with the sub. After having a few pro's try I used the mic and auto program and it finally got near perfect. Only issue I wanted it a little louder. So this weekend I had a shop bridge them and tune it off the amp. It really sounds great and has an incredible amount of bass. I fell like i have more bass now then I did before with the 10w3 in the trunk.

hmm i'm thinking i may have so much bump then i can get rid of my turbo as the bass will rocket my car
.....sorry just seems like that would be an extrodinary amount of bass to feed the car....seems like a bit of overkill. The car is so freakin loud now as is I think I may blow my ear drums
I'm thinking the sub would do much better in my WRX hatch. I have an avn 726E eclispe HU, hetz components, and a crappy boss bass600 powered underseat sub. So I was thinking about getting a 5channel amp, rears, and a new box to put my jl sub in. I also drive that car more so. I was also thinking I could just do a 4 channel amp in that car use the 2nd channel bridged for a sub - power rears off H.U. and keep the tune positioned 80%front 20%rear (filler).

Just as a point of reference, I use a Alpine PDX.5 and I have Alphasonik 3 ways in my doors, 5.25 Alpine Type-x speakers in the rears and a Alpine 12" Type-r sub in a sealed box. I can turn the system up so loud, that even at 100mph you need earplugs
Its tuned and balanced perfectly.

for reference the other components are: Pioneer Premier HU it's 8000prs or something like that ...a few yrs old but very capable h.u w/ a ton the tunning capabilities.
I just checked the specs on your amp... its no wonder you think it sounds so much better... you more than doubled the power your feeding those speakers. So yeah not a big surprise it sounds better.
And the funny thing about my system, all of the speakers in my car are under powered by a lot.
