maybe thats why the sub sounds so good j/k

Yea I guess I wasn't using my amp at all before. Now that I want to buy an amp for my wrx I don't want to make the same mistake as I did in the s2k.

Is it that much better to get a mono amp for a sub and 2 or 4 for components/coax?

oh yes. You want a mono for the sub and a 4 channel for the other 4 channels. Its also better to over power the speakers than under. But that said, you can get a car to sound really nice, even with them somewhat under powered. But its easy to get the sound nice with the extra power.

We ditched the big amps in our car to get the trunk space back. lol However I'm thinking of going back in the other direction again, just for fun.
