Default Oem headrest speakers

Hello fellow s2ki members,

i just bought a new pair of seats. Found a deal on them with oem headrest speakers already installed in the seats. I want to hook them up but don’t know is the car already has a harness or if I have to tap in to any of the existing speakers. The car in question is a 2002 ap1 and the speakers look like An oem spec speaker

OEM radios from all years have outputs for front and rear speakers, but in early cars the harness connecting to the
radio had no pins/wires in the cavities for the rear speakers. Later cars had wires for the accessory headrest speakers,
but they terminated in a connector behind the driver's side knee panel. The headrest speaker kit included wires
that went from that connector back to the seats. The addition of rear speaker wires to the headunit harness was in
either 2002 or 2003 so I'm not positive whether yours has them or not, but it's not too hard to add pins/wires to the
harness connector if you don't.
The installation instructions for the headrest speakers is here. As with everything the factory does it's overly
complicated, but on page 11 you'll see the location of the connector if your car has it.
