I have a MY05 and the radio will occasionally start getting a little bit of static then alot of static then it will go silent. all i have is a roady xt wired into the antenna and a set of alpine type r's. the work was done at best buy in new jersey cause at the time i just got the car and wasnt on here so i figured they had the knowledge to do the job. The problem didnt start until a year later. it happened once and then didnt happen again until a couple weeks ago and now it happens all the time.

when i try and turn the radio off and then back on all i hear is a quick and quiet blast of static

any suggestions?

 

not sure this is related but i found out it was my cell phone signal that causing the interference with my HU(power on, mute or not).

it didn't pick up any signal interference with my 00 radio but it did with the 02 silver face oem radio.

the phone was a sony ericsson btw.

 

i dont think that is it never thought of it tho cause i always throw my phone in the wanna be cup holder
