Default OEM Stereo woes -- CD portion

After almost a decade, the 2007's S2000 sound system has developed a problem and I'm asking if anyone had a similar experience and/or can make a recommendation. Recently, while the radio plays fine, when inserting a CD, in only "accepts" the disc partway in, and starts making a clicking sound. I decided to try a cleaning disc but, obviously, if the disc won't go in, it won't clean.

Any ideas? I'm presuming there's a motor drive that pulls the disc in, and something is happening it does not like. Blow-out with compressed air, maybe? Perhaps it might clean off a sensor?

I'd like a solution that left the unit in-dash, for convenience's sakes; if I remove it I might as well replace it.

Data point: my skill level on electronics, on a scale of 1-10, is about 0.002

My experience with these things is... the OEM radio transport is wearing out. You'd need to pull and fix it. Prolly no parts available. So... need to replace. Sorry.

Unless it's a misprint a reconditioned radio for the 2007 is $150 from Majestic Honda.

Refundable $400 core charge tells me they really want the old unit back!

Wow. Good feedback, but I guess it's time to explore what non-OEM head unit will suffice. Spouse is not an audiophile but expects CD capability in her S2000.

I put in an Alpine CDE-SXM145BT. Has all the modern doo-dads. Pretty nice unit, so far. I also upgraded to a Focal powered subwoofer.
