I have a JVC KD-SX980 and would LOVE to get your DCI working with it. Let me know if you have any ideas on how to do this and I can help with it. I have lots of electronics/soldering experience, so if you just wanna send me the parts I can assemble myself. I will also get the parts on my own if needed.

Thanks!

Hi QP_CH and 00s2k,

Thanks for your interest..

I will look at it in the next few day's. Maybe you could both check if your unit has a separate input for a IR receiver.
It should look like a jack plug connector.
It will connect to this input only.

As I can see on your picture, you have the KD-SH99RB. My headunit is the KD-SH77RB, which has exactly the same features (except for the mp3) therefore, it also has this jack-like input-connector!

Unfortunately my head unit does not have a plug on the back for a seperate IR receiver. It does have MP3 playback capability...that is mainly why I want to install it. I'm not sure if it would be easy to hook up an IR LED to your circuit and just point it at the front of the unit...it would need to be modulated correctly, etc. If the plug on the back of your unit just goes straight to the IR receiver led, then maybe it wouldn't be so bad. I may even be able to pop open my head unit and see if there is a spot on the circuit board for it. I wouldn't mind sacrificing my IR controller if we need to interface with it.

I may end up going for the DJ Qube interface in the end, but right now I don't have the cash...plus I love building and tinkering with circuits anyways.

Here is a link to the installation manual for it:

Looks like another US head unit that doesn't have the plug on the back

I'd still like to test out the circuit though. Let me know.

Thanks.

I would also be interested. I have a JVC SH909 headunit and I'm not very happy with the infrared-based control units.

Just give me a couple more day's to sort things out. Quite busy at the moment with some other stuff, so this JVC interface had to wait.

But it will definately be made...

I will keep you guys updated.

Sorry but please let me confirm this....IT WILL NOT WORK ON A USA ALPINE CDA-9807?

THIS PIECE IS BEAUTIFUL.....I HOPE IT HAS THE INTERFACE.

> I see the Steering Wheel Interface on all British released HU's. Is there anything different from these to the US versions?

THANKS.
