Neutered do you think it would be worthwhile to put nice tweeters in the headrest locations or just let it go?

You could do this for starters, but I've never heard them so I can't speak for the SQ of this particular set:

https://www.madisound.com/store/product_inf...roducts_id=9018

Anyway, let's say you go with the SEAS tweeters I posted previously. That's $60 of your $450 budget, leaving right around $390-400.

Then we move into woofers. Now, there are a few options here, and really you need to have the whole system design worked out before really looking too hard. I personally went with 5 1/2" ScanSpeak Revelators (with custom fiberglass door pods to protect the paper cones ), but I did that because I knew the sub I have easily carries the ranges needed to fill the low end (I run my 12" SI BMmkIII from 40Hz to 120Hz+ and the Revs from 100/120Hz to 2.5KHz).

Next we look at mounting depth. To clear the window spool, you'll have approx 53mm of depth. We add to that a 3/4" spacer (I have 1", requires shaving the backside of the door grille), and you now have approx 72mm of mounting depth (could squeeze 73 or 74 in, but 72 is safe).

So, now that you've decided what size cone and depth you need, it's time to look at woofers:

6 1/2":

$110/ea: https://www.madisound.com/store/product_inf...roducts_id=8439
$163/ea: https://www.madisound.com/store/product_inf...roducts_id=8531
$72/ea: https://www.madisound.com/store/product_inf...products_id=789 (these are what I personally run in my truck, and while not as great as the Revs in my S, still a great buy for the $$$)
$93/ea: https://www.madisound.com/store/product_inf...roducts_id=8430

Moving up in price a bit:

$233/ea: https://www.madisound.com/store/product_inf...roducts_id=8174

Switching to 5 1/2" or 5 1/4" and building fiberglass enclosures for the doors (or having someone do it for you ) with the 1" spacer and shaving the backside of the door grille:

$212/ea: https://www.madisound.com/store/product_inf...products_id=925

Note that all the 6 1/2's listed above have similarly spec'd 5 1/2's available on the Madisound website for similar prices.

I will be more than happy with the JL's that I chose and I appreciate your knowledge of GREAT sounding speakers and good prices. The only question I have would be if it was worth it to replace the stock Headrest speakers? I don't have alot of spare time on my hands to break down each individual product to spend time piecing my system together. Would the SEAS tweeters be a good replacement for the stock headrest? If it would work without too much complication involved I will order them right now Thanks!

I don't know if he still is or not, but Modifry was selling upgraded speakers
for '06-'08 roll hoops. See this thread.

Quality > Quantity.

Adding more crap speakers doesn't improve sound quality, it simply increases how much crap sound is produced.

Meanwhile, quality tweeters will not only improve the quality of what you hear, but the volume/amount of what you hear.

For car stereo, yes. That's precisely what I'm saying.

Please shop online for the exact same parts. you will save yourself almost $3000.

I would not get the JL Audio ZR650CSI 6.5" Component Speakers, I would opt for Hybrid Audio Technologies Clarus or something like Alpine Type-x pro

I already bought the JL's for $449 shipped. There are no reviews on them so without listening to them first hand you do not know what they sound like. I'm sure for my wants/needs they will work just great. If you people think they are a waste of money then don't buy them. I listened to them and other $1,000 component sets and I prefer the sound of what I got. Thank you.
