Thumbs down ok i just got my sytem installed and there

ok , heres some questions.
1. would you send power from your 100x2 to your components in the door by hooking the wires from the amp to the stock speaker wire's that runs in to the doors.

reason why i ask is my installer did this. the amp install is fine. the head unit install is fine. to me that one part seems odd. he told me that would be fine. another thing one of the sub component's at low vol, rumbled , but when the vol was turned up it cleared up. well he took the panel off took out the sub component and tested it was fine . come to find out ,wired backward. that was fixed. the other installer came over and checked it after it was back in still the same thing. with the panel off , turned head unit on started checking he started unscrewing the speaker and it just cleared up wow. he told me it was prob a bad sub component , and to check with my vender about getting it replaced. they tested the windows and i went home. i was fine tuning at home and was some what finished and put the top up wile the music was going . and put up the pass window and then when (bad comp sub side) drivers side window whent up it paused and then there was a thump and the drivers side sound changed and it whent up and faded over to the left on the head unit and sound was down and sounded weird. well i am not happy and i'm going back monday, and having him run speaker wires through the doors . then fix what ever that thump was. but i am happy with the amp and head unit installs. the work is guarantied so he will have fix it. plus i am not convinced the driver side sub component is bad. darkknight1999 , willle got any ideas or comments on this ? or any one?

also could it be (bad compnent) that with the wire not being run from the amp be the problem. also the om speaker wire would not be able to hold 100 watt's , right?

STOP USING YOUR SPEAKERS NOW!

Your installer is an idiot. If I understand correctly....he ran a 100x2 amp to NEW speakers in your doors and used Honda OEM wires....correct? If so, your car has the "potential" to catch fire from the rubber melting off the thin wires. Please rewire with at least 14 gauge wire.

[ej joke] did you get it installed at a circut city at location 1607 in North Carolina?

they're super fast but sometimes overlook details, like wiring[/ej joke]

no, without question you want new wires. that's a lazy installer. i can't believe he'd let you put in such top quality gear and not back it with decent cables. he did you a disservice and deserves to be treated as such. if it were me , i'd ask for my money back and go somewhere else. but under no circumstances should you let him do any more work in your car.

this is why DIY is the best way. at least you know that you will take time and care to do it right.

true willie, i agree . the wire comes up behind the head unit left and right . and its the right gauge. how would i go about running the wire from there through the door? shouldn't i go back and make them fix this because they guarantee there work and watch them like a hawk wile they do this. no it wasn't circut city . it's a custom place that has been doing alot of audio work and i had have heard that they done good work. the amp and head unit where installed good. just the speaker thingy

if you have to go back: be polite and firm & not red in the face screaming upset.

make an appointment with thier best installer. Ask for top quality wires for your troubles and make sure that jack ass didn't use cheap interconnects on your amp (my guess is that he did). the quality of the wiring has tremendous effects on how your system will sound. you spent major bucks on your amp and speakers make sure the entire set-up is wired properly.

Be super nice to your new installer and inspect his work. It's not his fault that his co-worker is lazy. make sure you get into your car and "test" your system before leaving. listen to some music you listen to quite a lot and push the limits of your stereo. if there is anything that doesn't sound right have them fix it. don't leave until you are totally satisfied.
