Alex here. Previous S2000 owner, but have gone German. I used to post up in the Electronics forum once in a while, but since I moved across the world (car-wise) electronics have changed quite a bit. I'm very envious of you guys with your Japanese stuff - Europeans don't even know how to turn on a light bulb compared to the Japanese

I am a lurker here, and I must say that John does a fantastic job

Oh - I am the Director of e-Commerce for a South Eastern Virginia Automotive Group dealing in Honda, Toyota, Scion, BMW, Mini, Hyundai, Isuzu, VW, Audi, Porsche, and Jaguar.

This love-fest is making me naucious.

I'm Pete. I stumbled into the Electronics forum nearly three years ago because the stereo in my S2000 sucked-ass. Darknight, PJK3, NFRs2000NYC, Modify, MacGyver, pas2knut, WLaurent, MarkS2002, and probably a LOT of other people whom I can't remember right now helped me out. I asked stupid questions and they patiently answered them for me, and I in turn show up once in a while to pass along what limited knowdlege I have and pictures of my car.

I am a computer geek by trade. I have had my S2000 since new in 2003 and have modified the heck out of it. I still love it and hope I never even consider getting rid of it.

I missed all the drama, but I know how it was, and I liked it that way too. So if it ain't that way now, then everyone should just agree with Darknight and make happy again.

Hi, i've never introduced myself.

My name is Will from Albuquerque and i've owned a '05 Silverstone since Nov. '04. It is bone stock. I used to own a 97 M3 with a semi-decent sound system and am biding my time on the S2000. I've been more than impressed with this board since the time I joined, and the long-time members are the main reason why.

Some of the most knowlegeable people who drive S2000s make this forum their home, and most of the time i'm humbled by how well they know their stuff.

That being said, the newb threads that have been answered 324876234876 times are inevitable. It's a plage of internet message boards. We just have to deal! Have you visited honda-tech lately? Sheesh..

i guess i'd better jump in on this huggy feel good fest...

i'm PJK3. Philip by birth (and preference), but i seem to be Phil around here.

2001 Silverstone/Black S2000 that i adopted from a kindish old guy who was mistreating her... i swore i'd never modify her (aside from stereo), but i now have a mods list that's quite extensive... i could list it, but just never have bothered.

i'm a mechanical engineer and i've specialized in maintenance based equipment engineering and failure analysis. i'm current working for a large refining company, and i specialize in pumps, turbines, compressors, and other large machinery.
i've hobbied for years in the electronics/gadgets world and have always been a gadget freak.
i've done 20+ years of stereo/video related stuff as a hobby. i've installed and run semi-pro sound setups, recording studios, installed exotic home systems, more car systems than i can count, installed pro-theater systems, and DJ'ed at a couple radio stations. i am also avid computer junkie.

i'm currently the owner of the FAQ and try to keep it up to date and current. there are some gaps, and i'm trying to get info in there, but sometimes it's a slow process.

also, i think i can lay claim to coining the term "Electronic Junkies/EJ's"

finally -- ALWAYS listen before you buy... if at ALL possible!

btw -- John, you're an ass, but i love you. like i told Jim the other night... i'm sure glad you consider me a friend.

Hi - I'm William and I am an alcoholic (oops wrong forums).

I am an electrical engineer (well now I just manage a gaggle of them) in the semiconductor industry. I worked mobile audio install for a number of years while in college and find the knowledge base here amazing.

Don't let modifry (Bob) fool you with his "just a high school grad" crap - he is one smart dude. Philip (I call him by his birth name) has got to be one of the most helpful people you could ever run into - unless you count PAS2kNUT (Jim) who needs to change his name since moving to the Bean Town State. Darknight (John) and the two Daves (NFRs2000NYC and xviper) are very knowledgeable in helpful when it comes to mobile audio and the S2000 in general.

Everyone knows what opinions are like..... The key is for the new guys to accept that they may not like what they hear when asking for one, and for the legacy group to understand that not everyone has the hours and hours of reading hear that some of us do. In addition - the car is no longer exclusive to the same general demographic. Not to mention that the search engine gets borked more often than not. My younger brother is in the process of buying a used 2001 - and I can already hear him asking if he can mount funky pups where the passenger airbag goes.

I generally consider myself knowledgeable when it comes to electronics and car audio and such - but guys like those mentioned above (along with macgyver not previously mentioned) at times make me feel like an idiot - not by talking to myself or others in an ill manner, but in the amount of knowledge they have individually and as a group.

I do enjoy reading these forums and have learned a lot. Moderating is a tough job and you can never please everyone all of the time.

Thanks guys.

Why bother listen while the best gears can be recommended by you ? Most members, new or veteran, of this forum know that you knew all good stubs. J/K

My name is Hoat from Irvine, Southern California. I never turn on stereo in any car I drove for the last 10-15 years. After I bought my S on Nov-03 and join this forum, I started to listen to music (oldies) while driving the S. I did not like music since 1990 and do not know any song and/or musician of the '90. But started to enjoy music the last two years, thanks to Phil.

Actually, webmaster is a small part of my job - yes, I have to wear a tie. That's Poindexter from Revenge of the Nerds playing his electronic fiddle near the end of the movie
