I'm in the market for a DVD receiver also. I had the older model of the JVC KD-AVX1 on my '06 S. I like the fact that it plays almost all format of CDs and DVDs. I don't really watch it while i'm driving. Some of the music that I listen are on music videos and its great for that.

This is the one I'm getting for my S. It is on amazon.com for $374.89 The screen is a little bigger at 3.5 inches.

 

It fits just fine at full tilt and the door closed. I have the AVX2 and all I had to do was cut the top bar on the inside of the radio hole. Sorry no pics as it has been installed for quite some time. Do a search and you will find what you seek.
