Has anyone done a good measurement of underneath the passenger seat? Just trying to figure out which amps will and won't fit...

Would rather put it under the seat (ease of wiring) than in the trunk.

Thanks.

Mike

Me too.
I would like to put an Alpine MRV-T407 under the passenger seat, but, if it doesn't fit, I'll put it over the gasoline tank.

I know someone has put a Sony 222 under the passanger seat. I've moved on from the idea of a small amp under the seat to a good size amp on top of the gas tank ( > 75 watt x 2).

The passenger seat is a tight fit, though some of the smaller amps will fit under there. The trouble with the passenger side is all of the bumps for the frame and tranny. Of course, the driver side doesn't offer much more room, but at least it's fairly rectangular in size for floorspace. I know someone asked me to make measurements of something else, but I can't remember what it was. Maybe next time I whip out the ruler I'll put together a little diagram of measurements for the passenger floor.

My Honda-brand alarm system is under the left hand (driver's) seat.

I wonder if the under the seat space is the same or mirror image on LHD and RHD cars.

Barry --

If I remember reading somewhere correctly, the driver's side is more "symmetrical" than the passenger's side -- so they are different shapes. Again, if I remember, I think someone mentioned that under the driver's seat is the better option -- obviously not for you Barry.

Now I have to figure how I am going to mount it -- still pondering that one... I refuse to drill into the floor board -- not an option for me. I will let you know what I decide and take some pictures...

I have pretty much committed to speakers and an amp -- I might as well do the install together and figure the amp is only going to add to a better sound -- anything is better than stock!

I am debating between JBL P632, Polk dx6 or Infinity Kappa 63.1 speakers -- I really like the sound of all of them! Haven't decided on an amp -- I will ask the folks at Crutchfield what they recommend. I know that I can get these items at a better price other places -- I have had really good experiences with Crutchfield in the past and like doing business with them.

Hopefully this coming weekend I will have everything to do the install -- and offer comments and pictures.
