Default People with Alpine 78xx and 79xx models

Hi all,

I am wondering if those head units REQUIRE an amplifier for my 4 speakers (front:2 tweeter, 2 6.5" pioneers; rear: 2 alpine 5.25")

From my reading from crutchfield.com
"The CDA-7894 plays MP3 files burned onto CD-Rs and CD-RWs as well as standard discs, so you can bring your Internet favorites along. It'll decode and display MP3 text info (ID-3 tags) plus CD Text on its bright readout. Plus, the faceplate buttons can be illuminated green or amber, so you can match your vehicle's dash lighting.

If all that V-Drive power just isn't enough, use the super-clean 4-volt front, rear, and subwoofer preamp outputs to add Alpine Bass Engine component amps and subs. And when you order a receiver/CD changer combo, you'll save $$ with our package discount. A wireless remote is included."

Thanks for answering my question.

7894 is an 02 model the 9813 is its replacement, go with that I think the 9815 tells you hello on the screen or something for a $100 more

You don't need an amp with these just a direct battery connection for the yellow or constant power.

I have the CA-7894 installed in mine, and I am driving both a front and rear set of MB Quart Componets with it. Only when you drive the volume over 25, does it start to degrade the sound quaility. But 25 is livable at 90, topdown.

The 7998 and 7995 (along w/ the F#1 Status 7990) DO require an external amp, i.e., they don't have an internal amp of their own. All the rest have an internal amp.
