Cool Robert. I noticed the PAC IR wire on the lower right of the headunit. Does that work well with the door closed? BTW where did you pick up your PAC switch? I know there is a local distributor in Sunnyvale, but haven't had a chance to visit them yet.
great pics!...hope to see your installation pics soon
i just got a jvc sh99 and PAC unit too....so did you get the mute button to work also?......from macguyer's site i need to solder a relay to the mute wire to make it work right?
Barry, Yeah I'm going to deck my car out with Rick's stuff next year... This year is the audio system and the driving courses...
What the, yes that is the JVC SH-99 MP3 Player... I love it and don't know how anyone could not want one .
Paul S2K, It all depends on placement, and actually it works better with the door closed, because IR does bounce off of the door . I have it placed such that it works 100% of the time... but its all trial and error.
silversonic, There is no mute wire on the JVC. There are many ways to make it work. The easiest way is to buy an amp and then wire the remote turn on using the relay.
TurboVtk, it is awsome... I love it and have no complaints. The only thing I would be concerend with is the motorized face... To me it is just unecessary and just another thing that can break. However, I love showing it off to people and everyone always goes "Wow!" when they see it change angles .
BTW, I don't remove the face that often because it is behind the door and only people who know me know its there. I feel this is the best way to decrease the possability of breaking the little motors and gears....
