Default Pioneer DEH-P800BT - the need for a Modifry?

Hi, all

I'm finally getting an S2000 next week (3rd attempt, long story!!). It will be on an 05 plate and totally standard out the box condition.

I'm looking to change the OEM head unit as if its anything like the OEM one in the Civic Type R then Im guessing it will be terrible.

I am keen on the Pioneer DEH-P800BT head unit http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/25/121/...00BT/index.html

On the specs of the head unit it states it has a "Hard-wired Remote Input" and the explaination for this feature is that you can connect it to your cars stearing controls.

Would this mean I don't need to purchase a Modify unit to control the head unit from the stearing controls?

Many Thanks in advance.

Mike.

this would mean you would NEED TO buy Modify or similar unit to plug into that input.

Pioneers "Hard-wired Remote Input" is designed for their water-proof wired remote control which they make for boat applications. As an alternative it can be used with steering wheel controls when an "interface" is used. Sometimes they mention the PAC interface as it's the most universal and well known. The DCI works with it too, just provides a few more functions than the PAC.
