I'm putting an AP2 into my 1973 BMW model 2002. The motor is mounted and runs but I'm trying to integrate the pedal. I bought a pedal and subharness in the picture but I don't know how to connect it to the ECM. Is there another harness that I need? Does the large connector in my hand connect to something that plugs into the ECM? Thanks for any help you can give me.

 

"Which AP2" engine would be helpful to those who can help. 2004-2005 is different from 2006 and later DBW engines. Different ECUs as well.

Thanks Chuck. You're right; it's a 2007 drive-by-wire. That's why I needed to get the pedal.

 

If you don't already have it, the Electrical Troubleshooting Manual will be very useful. That connector you're holding
appears to be the VSA Modulator - Control Unit connector, but that's about the limit of my ability to help you.
This forum historically has mostly been used for electronic accessories - there are some people with engine control
knowledge here, but you may find more in the Under The Hood forum.
