I thought Sony 1621's were the "simple" speaker of choice?

How come I haven't heard of anyone installing Kenwood KFC 1687's? 3-way, looks good on paper re: freq response and sensitivity, and should drop right in. I ended up getting the Polk ex602a's 'cause of lack of feedback on the Kenwoods.

I ended up putting the Sony 1631 3 ways in my car. I'm very happy with them.

Found an internet site that is selling the Nakamichi black Component set for only $128 the pair with crossover (awesome speakers)!!!!!!!!!!!!

Email me if you want the website.

Cheers,

vmb - how do you like the polk's?

for a 4-speaker setup, do you think you'd go with polk in front and rear?

gui3-

sorry, bought them last weekend, but the car's in storage and it's too cold to start taking the door panels off. Planning on installing the next time it hits above 50. The reviews I've found on this board have been good, that's why I got them. Funny how opinions change, however. At the very beginning JBL GTO630's were the "board's favorite," and now nobody mentions them. I'm not looking for MB Quart quality, either. I rarely listen to the stereo anyways, mostly only on long stretches of the highway.

If you haven't settled on a choice by the time I install my polks, I'll give you more feedback then.

No point in spending bucket loads on speakers unless you are going to buy and amp. Yourt stock head won't supply enough power and you'll eventually damage them. Sony 1621 is more than enough, simple as, and if you've got a red interior, well, what can I say!

i've got a pioneer deh-p7200 head unit already -- much better than stock

what are your opinions on mixing brands (ex. infinity in the front, polk elsewhere)?
