Thanks modifry for those measurements. I'll try and have a friend use her scales at work to test some various CD's, but as I'm sure she'll find due to your measurements, the weight differences will be insignificant.
Pinky, in previous posts you said your boss has been doing audio installs and such work for 30 years, but that combined with salesman rhetoric and brochures doesn't make for a very convincing argument to your supposition. Also, the fact that some CD players cannot support CD-Rs is not due to weight differences, but the strength of the pickup laser. CD-Rs do not reflect as much of the beam due to their organic compounds, so weaker pickup lasers will not be able to focus on the data layer correctly. The brochures most likely just say they don't support CD-Rs, but probably not why....this is why, not weight.
