Default Portable nav placement

i've been messing around with different locations and found that if i suction the cup/holder right under the sun visor, directly in front/above me. anyone else try this? any downsides?

ive tried the left side above the audio controls, but i have trouble looking left for some reason (DD nav is on the right), in front of the middle vent, but the steering wheel blocks part of the screen, on the dash where the oem nav is but it's facing away from the driver.

In the pic, i think modifry said his navi is velcro'd in place.
That's what i plan to do with mine.

i'm thinking if I get the Nuvi for the holidays to add this mount on top of Modifry's bracket,
It should work for the Nuvi But i need to call and find out.

http://www.gpscity.info/shipswith-ram-moun.../ramholga22.htm

Its only $5 + modifry's $15= $20 well spent!
