I ordered a set of these today to replace my Polk DB 6500s. We will see if an Alpine MRP 450 70W RMS 4 channel will drive these bad boys. I'm going to keep the Polk 525 2 ways in the rear panels.

i managed to install all the wiring. fishing lines is the worst thing i've done on any car and don't intend to do it again. the tweeters were mounted in the same ap2 stock position except it didn't fit in between the two plastic posts so i just super glue'd it to the metal bracket shifted downward slightly.

power line was ran down passenger side b/c i gave up on trying to reach the driver side grommet. and the rca/speaker wires were ran up the center console.

i hope to hook up all the lines and turn everything on.

Is it recommended to buy the Honda adapter so I don't cut up my factory harness? Are there any downsides to cutting the factory harness or something, and is it hard to do? This would be my first time installing speakers in a car.

are you referring to the deck harness or speaker harness?

if deck harness, buy modifry

if speaker harness, i think the general recommendation when running more power than stock is to run larger wires and not use stock lines.

yep, ppi sends you a bunch of wires but i chose to go with the 4-conductor monster cables so i didn't have to fish more than one wire.

Thank youu.

So I need to cut the backs of the things that hold the speaker in place to make it fit in the door right? And what did you do about the tweeter fitment?

If possible could you post some pictures of your install?

i basically cut out the entire 3/4 of the basket.

sorry, no photos, all the parts are on.

the tweeters were super glue'd to the bracket that was previously glue'd to the stock tweeter based on moving the new tweeter until it fitted comfortable. i just made sure nothing touched the silk dome.

You need to run a powerful amp. These speakers are power hungry. I don't know any headunit that can put out 50 watt per channel, which is the minimum the speaker's manual suggests.

There is a maximum amount of power around 150 watts per channel.

I am using 120 watts, with no problem. So is great, just use the fader to balance the sound so that I still have some front sound stage.

Love having the same speakers all around.
