I actually install a pair of 5.25 mids(no tweeters) and I love the "surround" sound also.
I mean the seats partially block some of the rears speaker so it still feel like most of the sounds are up front but you get that surround sound feel.
I would definately recommend putting some mids behind the seats if you're not 6'0 and need to push the seats all the way back.
I haven't try to put the tweeters behind there also cause I it will be too much high.

Rear speaker genesis:

1) Lucid 4" okay sound with stock unit.

2) Added 4-channel amp to stock system, added Kenwood components, removed stock speakers (blue) from doors and put them in back, sold lucid panels

3) Changed out stock head unit for Alpine, added Blaupunkt components in rear, put stock speakers in storage.

4) Changed out amp from 50watt x 4 to 120 watt x 4, added PPI 356cs to front, installed Kenwood Components in rear. Sold off Blaupunkts.

5) Removed Kenwood Components put in storage, and added custom installed PPI 356cs in rear.

I will block out some time to take pictures and will send them to you.

Chris

These tweeters do not saturate as you get louder do they?

The polk dB6500's I have now suck ass and as I drive up power, the tweeters sound like crap

I am tempted to buy this.......

I'm all about good clean mid and high, and enough speaker headroom to spare as I turn up the volume....just good clean solid mid-range hits without much ringing?

Just received these. OMG, I am go impressed with the overall quality . The crossovers are superbly built and the tweeters and speakers are equally impressive... they look solid and know from all your inputs to expect the same with the sound.

Hoping to have no hickups.....

Only question I have is will the crossover fit properly in the 2003 tweeter pod? Is the OEM pod easy to remove so I can just use the PPI pod?

Can't wait to get these in!!

I don't know what you mean by "will the crossover fit properly in the 2003 tweeter pod"..
I installed the Xover in the pictures I posted.
Don't know about the OEM pods as I installed my tweeters differently.
I absolutely love this set.
After broken in, they sounds better than before.
I can turn the volumm up really high without any type of distortion.
Can't say the same thing about a couple of other comps I've tried.

They fit perfectly in an AP2. Just cut the backs out of your stock speaker baskets for the woofers. The tweeters fit in the stock locations without any modification.

You would really only need to run a bi-amp setup if you have two lower output 2-Ch amplifiers, or if you have a 4-Ch amplifier with relatively low power output per channel. If you've got an amp that can put out about 100W RMS per channel then you should be fine w/o a bi-amp setup.

I currently have these drivers connected to two channels on a PDX 4.100 and it's more than enough power.
