Protecting Door speakers
OK, couple more questions for anyone that knows, but it seems darkknight has a lot of experience here. So I mounted my speakers. I put weatherstripping behind my MDF baffles to make a tight seal, then MDF baffles, then Foam baffle things shown above, then my CDT speakers. It seems that this may have been a bit too thick. Window still goes down fine, door panel connects everywhere, except the one clip to the front of the speaker on the bottom. It seems like it may be hitting just a bit. If the door still opens and closes OK, will this cause a problem.
Second question--I was going to seal the door with some aluminum and raammat, as the raammat site shows, so I did away with the moisture barriers. However, after seeing hows far the plastic rhombus/lopsided rectangle compartment on the back of the door panel goes into the actual door, I decided to leave the area open. (Project has been going too long, and I lost motivation to try and seal that area with an insert around the compartment. Anyhow, with no moisture barrier, will that cause a huge problem? I did mat over a lot of the higher holes, but the big area in the back under the door lock rods is open.
Thanks in advance. I appreciate everyone on this sites help. The step-by-steps and FAQ are invaluable tools.

1. You can trim the plastic on the inside of the door panel... the round section the in meant to go around the speaker. You should lower the windown down and measure everything... you might be able to use a 1/2" MDF baffle ring instead. I would check that out first before trimming that plastic.
2. You can leave that open if you want... You can cover it though. Trace the shape onto a piece of cardboard them trace that onto some mat and put that section on the back of the covering piece so you dont end up with that big opening... but again you dont have to...
You can call me if you want (508-450-1555)... I can explain it over the phone if the above is confusing. If I don't answer just leave a message and I'll call you back when I get a chance.

Thanks Dark Knight. I ended up closing everything up with the small gap on the speaker. I didn't want to make new rings, the window lowers properly, and all the clips attach except the one between the hinge and the speaker on the passenger side. You would never know unless you were the installer. The door doesn't stick or anything, so I think I'm going to roll like that for now. I left the gap open, just didn't know if losing the moisture barrier would be a big issue.
Anyways, the whole project made a pretty big difference. It's a lot of work, but I recommend it for anyone else searching this in the future. There are tons of pics and step by steps so I won't bore you with another, but I do recommend it.
Thanks again Dark Knight.
