Putting down Sound Dampener
One of these weekends I am gong to be ordering some sound dampener to help reduce some of the in-cabin noise. My question is how much sound dampener can I put down under the carpet without it being to thick to use the clips that keep the carpet down.
Thanks
Thanks
i know this specifically electronics related, but theres lots of good information in there regarding dynamatting a car for sound proofing...im going to move this thread there...
Well I ordered some dampener from http://www.secondskinaudio.com/, got 40 square feet of Deamplifier and 20 square feet of Overkill. It should be here sometime next week and it'll be installed over the weekend. I'll give my impressions then
You can lay down quite a bit of any of these products as long as you leave gaps around the clip holes. There are some fairly huge reductions of cabin noise levels to be had by such a treatment.
My own aproach can be viewed with this sequence of photos for the driver's side. I used more Dynamat on the passenger side when I did it earlier:

There are lots of approaches to the problem that will work - this is just one example of how to go about it.....
