Default Question about Installing Front Speakers

Hey all,

I have a set of Diamond Audio Hex s600 and I'm going to install them today. Just wanted to know if I should be concern about anything like: fitment, wiring, or anything i will need to make this install smoothly.

Thanks for your help.

The doors fit 6.5 Inch Speakers in the bottom of the doors if that helps.
Depending on the size of the magnet you may have to cut some of the plastic mounts to fit them which is no big deal .

Quynh, I went through this a couple weeks ago installing a set of Canton components. My speakers were slightly oversized 170mm vs 6.5in so I had to remove the plastic basket entirely and cut a spacer from 5/8" MDF. I used the removed basket to trace the outline for the MDF and then cut a hole large enough for the magnet. This was much easier than I had imagined and looked great. Of course you can't see it after it's installed. I'm not sure about the speaker depth so can't help you there but I had plenty of room after using the MDF spacer.
I ran new wiring from amplifier in the trunk and the worst part was getting it through the grommet at the door hinge. I used the following thread as a guide.

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...&threadid=84505

On Passenger door I followed jeffbrig instructions and all went well except it was a gargantuan pain in the a$$ getting the grommet back in place after feeding the wire through. On the driver's side I used lucid's suggestion from this same thread and found this much easier for me.

Diamond is a line we carry. However, their 6.5" isn't TRUE 6.5" nor is it the other 6.18" size as the door speakers (and brands like sony, kenwood, polk, etc.). its 6.25"

What you need to do is use a set of our adapters, use the Plastic grill RING from the Hex set (its strong ABS plastic) together. you mount the plastic ring onto the holes of our adapter and then the speaker to it.

Otherwise get your MDF and cutter out for some fun!

The plastic GRILL ring that holes the metal mesh on (that would be thrown away in most installs) It says DIAMOND AUDIO on it - is what you attach to the adapter. THEN you screw the speaker into the plastic ring.

We could have had a metal ring cut for these but setup costs for this size - this is the only company that has odd size would not be worthwhile.

Depth isn't an issue. The S600S is excellent, I use them myself.

By any chance can you link me the the things you said above that I can buy from you that would make this install easier? We were so close to getting them installed, except the arches are a bitch to carve up on the basket.
