Default Question about the PAC-SWI3

I just had my new Alpine unit installed and the PAC unit works great. The only thing is I used an old amp and I have to upgrade to a new one this weekend due to noise (my amp isn't giving enough juice) anyway I want to disconnect the battery and disconnect the amp and re hook up the new amp. Will the programmed functions on the PAC be erased? Any info would be appreciated, or if there is another way to recoonect the amp w/ out disconnecting the battery?

The PAC works with any stereo (or any other component, for that matter) that uses IR for control. If you can use a remote as an option, your head is compatible. See my website.
