This is what the description of the system on HandAAccessories.com says:

"Security System
Remote operation, door ajar warning, auto relock function, sounds horn and flashes lights when triggered, glass breakage detector, door and trunk sensors."

What exactly does the door and trunk sensors mean? Does it activate only if someone opens them, or can you set it that bumping into it would be enough to set the alarm off?

If anyone has a manual on this alarm, I'd pay for a copy. I purchased my stook used and there was no manual

It means the alarm goes off if you open the doors or trunk. You can bump it as hard as you like. So if you open with a key or reach in and open from the inside it goes off. The trunk will not set it off if you open it with the remote, but will with a key.

Thanks...I still haven't gotten an alarm, and I'm deciding between the OEM one and possibly a Viper or Clifford.

Assuming the stock alarm is the same in the US as that in the UK then I would recommend it. No problem at all in 12 months of ownership.

I have the stock alarm on my S2K and a Clifford on my NSX. One nice feature about the Clifford that the stock alarm does not have is an infrared monitor for when the top is out (my NSX is a Targa). If someone reaches into the open window or top, the alarm goes off. You don't have to open a door or break glass to set it off. If you can get a similar system for the S2K that will go off if someone reaches in when the top is down I think it would be a better system than stock. Just my opinion.

IF you get after market you have to get the remote start function...It is bad ass when the car starts while no one is in it. I FREAKS people out...I love mine.

Enzyme,

How does the remote start work with the stick shift? I thought the clutch had to be pushed in for the car to start?

You can bypass it I'm sure, but as a byproduct, you also have to bypass the immobilizer too. It's not worth it for a feature that's more show than functionality. It's also dangerous, because if you leave your car parked in gear, you're in trouble.

Well on another thread this auto start feature was used with the car in gear and in the garage, it bent a few panels and required new headlights so being old fashioned I don't think its on my menu.
