Default Question about stock Head Unit

MY CD player has been playing CD's as if they are scratched to all hell even though I put in a brand new CD or CDR. The player sometimes can't even read the CD, or will stop midway through a track and won't read the CD anymore. It use to happen every so often but these last couple of weeks it's just been impossible to play any CD.

I'm going to schedule an appointment to have it looked at but has this happened to anyone else? I'm curious if this is a common problem or if my HU is just crapping out on me.

I've thought about using a couple quick pass throughs with a can of compressed air.

$800.00+ to replace if Honda claims you damaged it with your compressed air method.

I say just let them take care of it. If you're under warranty, then they'll take care of you.

you can buy a CD cleaner kit like at Circuit City or best buy or sumthin, its pretty cheap, and you probably wont have to wait for HONDA to "diagnose" a dirty lens...Plus you wont be out $800 for the "compressed air" issue...

Honda is going to replace my HU. I guess I could have bought a cleaning kit, but now I've got a new HU.
