Default Question RE: Replacing stock tweeters in my05'?

I havn't pulled the door pannels yet, but was just wondering how easy it is to replace the factory tweeters in the 04 or 05. Do you need to make a bracket?? Can you use the stock one?? Does it depend on tweeter size?? Any help, thanks!

Depends on the tweeter size. I put Polk Momo components in mine. The tweeter was large enough to where the OEM bracket would hold it in place. I've installed other that were too small the stay put. I just made a small plastic mount that screwed into the OEM bracket for thos cases. It's real easy to adapt just about anything for that space, you just have to be a little creative.

I think I spent more time on my tweeters than any other single item when I did my install.

Take your time and be creative. You can make just about anything fit.

The 05's are really not that much different than the previous models. Attached below is how I did a recent customers car at our shop, we used Infinity Kappa's. Use the metal bracket that already has the factory tweeter mounted to it. Take out the screw holding the tweeter in, and pry it off the bracket. Then Hot glue or epoxy the new tweeter onto the bracket. Double stick tape will eventually fail on you, so Hot glue is the best because you can remove it and reinstall the factory system if you want later.

Good Luck.
