Are the lights on the S2 supposed to flash or at least a beep when you lock / unlock the car? Mine is completely silent except for the sound of the locks opening and no lights flashing either.

If this is not normal, anybody have any ideas as to what the issue could be?

do you have an aftermarket alarm or just the oem remote? my aftermarket alarm makes the lights blink but i dont know about the oem setup

 

Just the OEM remote.

 

My 05 does flash when locking and unlocking - the turn signals and the brake lights only though.

 

Yeah, my 00 has the lights flash, the lower light in each indicator and the brake lights flash. No horn sound when im unlocking though, but im pretty sure thats normal.

 

On my '03 lights blink twice when I press OEM remote unlock. Blink once when press lock, and horn beeps when I press lock again

 

Any ideas as to what could be wrong with this car? It's bone stock except for a non OEM audio unit.

 

Ha I posted in Electronics and didn't get an answer, every so often my passenger side running light won't blink, and then it will work 3-7 days later. Probably related. Turn your... um... I would call it the stick haha, turn the light stick one notch and see if your "running lights" light up. They are the orange ones and are supposed to light up when locking/unlocking. Doubt it would be different ap1 vs ap2

 

What exactly do you mean by the running lights? You mean the indicators?

 

could be a lock actuator acting up. check to make sure they work with the switch and remote.
