Quick Speaker Question
So ive settled for a set of speakers for my fronts, the size is 6.5 with a top mount-depth of 2 3/8.
The FAQ here states - "The S2000's door speakers are 6.5" diameter speakers. What prevents installation is usually an issue of mounting depth. Using the data found on MacGyver's site (yes, the real MacGyver wink.gif) the rear depth of the space for speakers is 68 mm (2.68") on the top and 79 mm (3.11") on the bottom. "
This might be A REAL DUMB QUESTION. But this audio tech i spoke to at a local shop CONTINUALLY INSISTED i would need a spacer for these speakers to fit or else the window would hit them when lowered.
Isnt this set of speakers going to fit just fine? If i am wrong - what size spacer would i need?

since very few speakers will fit in an unmodified OEM speaker basket,
you're going to need a "spacer" of some sort. Could be the original
speaker basket with the back cut off, or perhaps a ring made out of MDF -
5/8" works well, and I believe 3/4" will fit if you need the depth.
Here's a link to the previously mentioned MacGyver's site which may help you.

while no doubt someone at some point has installed a spacer on top of
the original speaker basket, in general the spacers people refer to are
simply a ring that goes between the door and the speaker in place of
the stock basket, usually 5/8" or 3/4" thick.
here's another thread to check out...
