Radar Detectors
I currently have the Passport 8500 X50 (blue), but I am thinking about replacing it so lights match the dash. Should I...?
1. Replace with same detector but Red and make a few bucks?
2. Purchase the 9500i Passport
3. Purchase the Valentine 1

I should have bought a v1 the day I bought my car instead of 9 months afterwards.
I vote v1. But the others are good. www.radardetector.net/ to help you choose

i vote option 1.
the 8500 is every bit as good in detecting radars as the other two options. so why waste money?
arrows are cool but not worth the extra money in my opinion. who cares where its coming from? if its tracking u (behind or in front) bottom line is u need to slow down.
2. is cool, but not necessary unless u get false alarms that often.

I have an 8500 Blue and a V1.
In side by side testing the V1 is more sensitive front and rear - and having the arrows is like cable TV or hi-speed internet, you never needed it until you had it.
The V1 does false more often, likely due to the higher sensitivity, but the Junk signal detector/indicator off-sets the annoyance of false alarms.
The 8500 suction cups last about 4 months in the AZ heat, still on my first set with the V1 (more than a year) - the 8500 is about 4 times heavier.
I also think the V1 is easier to hear when top down.
The V1 is in the S2000 and the 8500 lives in the Pilot.
