Default Radar Installed into Rear view Mirror?

Someone told me at a weekend meet that there was a post with pics here once about a radar detector which was installed so the display was within the rear view mirror? Sounds lush, and i would love to look @ it, but i cant find the thread anywhere. Does someone who is more familiar with the Electronics Forum know what the thread was called, could TTT it or give me the link?

Thanks for help

Gomason did it with a custom installation last year. The V1 was mounted into a custom secret compartment and the display into the rearview mirror.

It was back in May 2002 or so...the search is pretty crude so I couldn't find the specifics with photos.

As for materials, originally I was searching for "Mirrorpane", apparently the standard for two-way mirrors, however the min size any of the local places would order was in the multi-sq ft at lots of $$$ per sq ft.

The glass shop I went to suggested using the glass from the side mirrors of big-rig trucks (the big rectangular mirrors), as it had the same properties as Mirrorpane at a lower cost, and they were able to order it easily.
