Default Radio bracket "locate pins" blocking install

I am trying to install a Sony DSX-GS80 headunit in my s2000 by reusing the brackets from the OEM headunit. Unfortunately, the brackets have two locate pins (see photo) that don't line up with the holes in the Sony headunit.

I suspect that there are a lot of possible ways of resolving the issue:
- Finding a compatible aftermarket bracket without locate pins
- Removing (cutting, sanding, etc) the offending locate pins, though this would require tools that I dont have
- Installing the new headunit without the bracket (the Sony headunit came with a flimsy-looking sleeve system)
- Drilling locate holes into the new headunit
- Returning the Sony headunit and purchasing a different model with the correct locate holes.

Any ideas as to what would be easiest?

do yo have a file? file them off.

do you have a hammer? set the bracket on something solid and hammer the nubs flat.

Luckily, my neighbour has a bench clamp and Dremel, and was able to remove the pins in minutes. This is the easiest and cleanest way to do it.

If he hadn't helped, I would have tried using a file as suggested by spider2k above.
