Default Radio cover installation

Is there a trick to getting the radio cover back on? I just got done installing my amp, door speakers, DCI and head unit, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the radio cover back on without breaking the tabs. Do I need to take the center console apart? The bottom hits the plastic in front of the shifter so I can't get it low enough to get the bottom three tabs aligned. I tried search, but couldn't find what I was looking for. Thanks

Dan

Yes, you need to take the center console off. Then it should just fit right in there nice.

Congratualtions on your install now post up the pictures!

Well I did finally manage to get it on without taking the center console apart. It just took a little more brute force than I thought would be required. I didn't want to hurt anything, so I figured I would ask here first. But as impatient as I am (been working on this install off and on for 3 days now) I figured I would give it another try.

I'll take some pics, but the amp is still kinda rough, gotta trim the wiring down a bit, and run a wire for my sub when it gets here (WLaurent Box ordered). I was in a hurry to get it turned on and test it out. Anyway, I'll post what all I installed as well.

Alpine CDA-9853
Alpine MRV-F345
Alpine KCE-511M (Amp Link)
Modifry Alpine Wired DCI
JL Audio VR600-CSi
WLaurent 10" sub box (ordered)
10" sub eventually

Here are a couple pics. I am also going to make a cover for the amp area, to cover up all the wiring, and all you will see is the amp through a hole in the cover. Like I said, the wiring still needs some work to look better...

HOLY PICTURE BATMAN!

Is that your fuse next to the amp in the trunk? I thought fuses (on major power) should be within 4' of the power supply.... Maybe I am thinking of something different .

That is a second fuse. There is also a 100 amp fuse 18" from the battery.

I had the same problem putting the door on ... i even went as far as cutting the bottom 3 tabs off and scratching the bottom of the center console piece (luckily sis works for honda and ordered replacement part) : / anyway, my problem ended up being that I had to move the factory brackets closer to the front on my aftermarket radio rather than the same spot as the stock radio if that makes any sense? after that much easier to put back on ...
