Default Radio Dash Control - Autoleads PC99-X61

Hey everyone, I will be purchasing a Kenwood KDC-BT955HD head unit soon and would like to keep my dash controls, so I am also going to purchase the Autoleads PC99-X61 (Not the Modifry because it is much more expensive). What I want to know and can't find information on is.. Do I NEED this Kenwood patch or do I only need to buy the PC99-X61??

Also.. it says "Non-Bose.." what the hell does this mean? There is no information anywhere on this either. I want to get Bose speakers eventually, but will this not work with those???

Here the patch for reference..

And the PC99-X61..

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I have no experience with the PC99, but perhaps this thread can shed some light on your question.

The adaptor consists of two parts, these must both be purchased based on your vehicle model and choice of radio brand:
  • Part 1: Vehicle Interface (Shown Here)
  • Part 2: Radio Interface (in Related Items)
I think that pretty much answers your question. Lots of people in the UK have these - be aware you need to be very careful following the installation instructions.

Just wanted to point out that the PC99 is excellent. I used it for my S2K. Only thing missing was speed control volume, I think.

I can use volume-up/down hold to skip songs too.
