You'll be shouting at your "hands free" phone with the roof down unless you go to a headset as many do with the little radios on group drives. I don't see any place to plug in a headset on my iPhone though.

Yes, that hands free phone wont get used much, but nice to have just in case. A group drive or at least a get together would be nice, but I can sadly find no clubs or anything around here.

So how difficult is it to swap out the speakers in the doors on this?

My Pioneer hu has HF phone. Placed mic just in front of gauges, on the ledge behind steering wheel.

Whenever I try to use it top down, people say it sounds like I'm in a hurricane.

I thought it'd be better protected down there. Seems like a common place to put moc, but all reports I've seen say no one can hear them. Someone once posted they placed mic up by sun visors. Like in the middle in the dome light area, and audio worked great.

Seems counter intuitive, but who knows. I eventually want to try it. But rarely use phone.

Suggest temp place mic in various places to test it out before final install.

Pretty simple to remove the door panels - three screws and one clip.

This link has some good photos of the procedure:

Got my new stereo all installed today and YAY, all the dash controls are back up and functioning. Pretty easy install with the Modifry interface and their Plug & Play wiring harness, and a way cleaner install than all the butt connectors that were in there. Now I'm thinking speakers to finish things off. ;-)

Well , got a set of speakers for Christmas So I will continue with my project. I'll get some sound deadener panels as Car Analogy above suggested.. may as well as long as I have the door cards off and any quieting I can do to this car would be a good thing as its pretty loud inside.

You might be able to get away with just "pushing" the deadener on but it'll be better if you get the roller for it. I purchased a set of different sized rollers for different situations so choose one that'll work best for where you're applying it on to.

Thanks, I already have 2 or 3 rollers that will work I think, tools for other things such as wallpapering (did that for years) and other things I have done... lots of misc tools in my garage. I'm kind of a tool hound!
