Default rca length? is 9ft enough

I purchased all of my audio setup before even taking possesion of my S and i remembered the car being much shorter so i bought a set of 9ft rca's for my 4 channel amp. Now that i have it, im wondering if it is going to be long enough. If it will work, can you run it on the side as usual, or do you have to run them up the middle. Also if 9ft is not enough, would 12ft work. The installers in my area have never worked on one, and think 9ft will work, but i just want an owners word before tearing my car apart. Thanks in advance.

Thought i would update this for anyone in the future who does a search. 9ft will work. You must go up the middle, and decide which side of the trunk u want the amp on and run on that side of the center console as they work, but arent too long once in the trunk area.

it depends partly on how you run your RCAs, and where you mount
your amp. I have 4-meter (13 ft) ones run through the center console to
my amp located over the gas tank, and I think 9 ft would have been ok,
but if you're running down the side and into the tool well, you'd need
more. I'll let someone who has done it that way answer exactly how
much more, though.

i would like to put my amp in the trunk on the passenger side, standing up if that helps. i would prefer to run the wire on the side, but if i have to run up the middle that is fine. if i have to get different wire, ill just get long enough to run it on the side.

Again, depends on how you are going to wire it. I can bet 9 ft isnt enough, and if it is, it will be tight at hell. 12ft is enough if you run them down the center console.

9 footers only work on down the center, if you run them down the sides then you need to use 15 </> footers so you have some nice working room. You might be able to use 12's but it will be tight.

ill probably just stick with the 9ft then. i really like the ones i have. its the Stinger 4 channel set that is all in one cable (if that makes any sence). and ive used them before, and have had great sound quality out of them. thanks for all the advice.
