re-pin a stereo harness
Is there a special trick to doing this? I'm trying to move some pins so i don't have to splice into the honda harness for my dci. Or do you guys know where I can go to buy new pins? I already tried radio shack but to no avail.
The plastic connector has little ramp-like "ratchets" molded into it that
allow you to push the pin in and then it holds the pin in from the back.
You need to push the ratchet down to remove the pin. I was able to do
it with a tiny jeweler's screwdriver inserted through the hole below the
pin from the pin side, grabbing the end of the ratchet and pushing it
down while pulling on the wire. If you have something thin enough,
you should in theory also be able to do it from the wire side by simply
pushing it in between the pin and the ratchet, and then pulling out
the wire. Kind of hard to describe, I hope you get the idea.
