Default Really need help deciding on this

After figuring out that there would be no way to use a flip out tv monitor..i decided i would probably have to get the dash cut and a monitor installed there (yes i've seen the awesome job that another member did on his car)..anyways.. some shops are saying "do you really want to cut into your dash" while others are all for it and are giving me decent quotes and have good reputations..my question to you is would you guys do this (having it look like the oem JDM navigation screen)?? Honestly i won't be doing navigation....it's going to have a dvd/cd player in the din where the current cd player is..btw: my car is very new...i'm just wondering what your opinions are on this job (i was going to have a 7" widescreen put in).. i am also going to end up getting the JL stealthbox and amp as stage 2 so-to-speak...but am deciding on the screen first because if i decide against the screen, i won't get the dvd/cd player, just an aftermarket cd player..anyways i'm ranting... i really really want to do this, but really need some input from S2000 owners too.
Also, someone on here had mentioned that the oem dash replacement (incase of any major screw up would only be $340..can anyone confirm this?
Thanks alot for reading my ranting and for all of your opinions ahead of time!

if you want it, then go for it... just make sure the installer is good at what he does.. i personally would keep the car stock looking instead..

Doing the dash is expensive and extensive. An easier way would be to try putting the LCD in the visor one or both. You'll maintain the look of your car and be able to hide it when you're away.

You know MikeS2k + my opinions on the matter

If you don't like the install, a new dash is only ~$300 away...

BTW, my car had 2000 miles on it when I started cutting...
