Default Rear Speaker help needed.

I am in the process of upgrading my stereo system and have some questions. First here is what I have decided on so far:

HU - Alpine 9815
Front Speakers: MB quart Q series components
Lucid / Modifry DCI

I also want to put in rear speakers but am unsure what will fit. I was looking at these speakers:

http://www.woofersetc.com/product.a...57&1=358&3=1033

Would they fit? Also can I put 6.5 in the rear or is that just too big? Thanks again everyone.

Also, is there anything else I should know before installing rear speakers like things I should look out for? Thanks.

Dude....since you are getting MB Q's, which are phenominal speakers....I suggest you install them first, and see if you still want rears....My guess is you wont.....

However, you can wire up the rear when you do the system, just so you can throw the rears in quickly........

my .02 cents....

Another shameless plug for Marks2002, but I'm really happy with the speaker pods in the roll bar. If you get rear speakers, this is definately the way to go.

I've got the Spods as well, and I have heard both rear speaker options. The Spods are hands down the better option better sound, and a factory look! Mark is an excellent member of this board to deal with

Good luck with your system, and whatever decisions you make

I have looked into the pods and realistically it is beyond the budget at this time. I will probably wire the rears up behind the seats for now and maybe next year get the pods. I am still trying to determine if the speakers will fit though. I guess I will find out in a week or so when I install the system.

How is the stereo separation with the Spods? I don't see how you would hear the right rear channel at the same volume as the left rear channel.

Fade and balance seems to work fine for me.

PJK3 also suggested bridging the rear channel so you get the same thing from both speakers effectivly "fooling" the ears into thinking it's stereo surround. I have not played with this myself yet.

Fade and balance work for me too. The bridging idea is new to me, but sounds really interesting.

I'm not worried about that. I actually don't have the fader all the way to the rear, just enough to even out the sound from the front.

You're right though, you don't hear the same volume from the right one as you do from the left one, but that's not a big deal for me. It's not like I'm watching a movie in 5.1 and am expecting some machine gun fire from the right speaker and miss it. They sound great to me, and the best thing is that I don't have to crank it up to hear it on the highway.
