Default Rear Speaker Installation

I have my S2000 about 3 weeks now and I want to add rear speakers. I found great information here and at Lucid, but have been unable to get the lowdown on running the cable from the radio to the speakers. Lucid has some great installation instructions on their site but nothing covers the wiring. I won't tackle this project until I see the extent of the carpet/panel removal to get the wire routed properly. I know there are many of you out there who installed the rear speakers and would appreciate any info you could provide.

Thanks,
Cigar Man

Are you going to run off the stock radio or an aftermarket, I think it might be a bit different in that respect.

I pulled the wires down the center tunnel.

1. Pull the radio out of the car.
2. Pull up the center console.
3. From the Parking brake hole, run the speaker wires up the right side of the shifter in the radio compartment.
4. Parking brake run the speaker wires back to the opening infront on the glove box, running them up and over. Just like the power for the lighter plug.
5. put it all back together.

I just installed my rear speakers from Lucid last weekend...delivered only 4 days after placing the order. They sound great with the 2002 OEM head unit (and I went his least expensive package)! Regarding the installation, if I can do it, pretty much anyone can. Lucid sends along a great printed guide with color pictures and text that walk you through the whole process. In my 2002, Lucid's custom pre-fab wiring harness fit right under the vinyl console cover right next to the passenger seat (it snaps off readily to allow this). The whole thing only took me about an hour. I say: GO FOR IT!

Just wanted to add my agreement to the comments about the Lucid system. They shipped the Kenwood speakers already mounted in the Honda panels from behind the seats. The harness was included (at extra $50 charge) and color instructions were great. They did not try to sell me anything I didn't need (amp or sub woofers, etc.). Installed in my 2002 this weekend. Can't image more bang for the buck. Can actually hear the stereo at 90 mph.

Looked at just about everything, but settled on the KFC 1077 offered by Lucid. I wrote to Lucid asking for recommendations since they had a complete line of equipment at all price ranges. They recommended the KFC 1077 package ($149 plus $50 for harness). I had heard someone else's and was very pleasantly surprised at the difference. Could have spent lots more, but did not hear the difference in sound for anywhere near the cost of this system. Speakers seem to resonate around the seats for a "surround" effect.
