Default Rear speaker question More pics

I have a set of 4" Polk speakers in the rear panels of the car. Can I put larger ones here? And if so how large? That is with out a lot of cutting.

You can but you'll have to trim some of the metal away to make larger ones fit.

I have Alpine SPX-137a's in my car. I trimed some of the thin metal away, with a Dremel, no problem.

Sorry the pictures aren't that great but here you go:

i've been thinking of adding rear speakers and was curious, do the seats muffle alot of the sound?

Yes and no... even if you have the seat all the way back the sound will travel out the vent in the panel. However when I drive I don't have the seat all the back up against the seat I have about a 1 inch gap. My system sounds awesome. If your taller than say 6' you may want to consider using the S-pod setup instead of the rear panel style.

But either way getting a set of rear speakers makes such a great difference I wouldn't have an S without them now.

get some s-pods. they fit in between the roll hoops. They fit 5.25 + tweeter components. Good stuff, especially when cruising with top down at 80+, you can still hear the music.
