Rear speakers
Has anyone installed rear speakers in the convertible top well? I am looking into installation options. It seems like there should be adequate room for some back there. Any experience/ pitfalls appreciated.

Actually, I was thinking about mounting subs and porting them at the front of the tray or ala Lucid. On the other hand, wouldn't the vent that is there serve as a (albeit poor) port. Was then going to cover with "carpet" ala Muz-mat. This way it wouldn't be affected much by putting the top down, and still get ported bass.
I have just finished installing a Blaupunkt system in my car consisting of 5.25 door speakers w/ component tweeters above in the door and fosgate tweeters beside your feet pointing into the cab, also we put 6x4 triaxial speakers behind the seats. The system sounds great and the rear speakers add tremendously to the sound stage especially on the highway.

Very nice setup!!!
I have three inquiries. First, if I placed those rear 4x6 speakers in my S2K, those speakers would basically be using the trunk as an enclosure, thus pulling the air in the trunk and pushing the air from the cabin of the vehicle. I have a subwoofer in the trunk which is pushing the air in the trunk and pulling the air from the sealed enclosure. So if I place these 4x6 speakers in my car, would the subwoofer cancel most of the low and mid sounds the 4x6 speaker is producing, since the sub is pushing the air the 4x6 is puling?
Second inquiry. Since the 4x6 speakers are right next to the trunk vent, the 4x6 speaker basically has no enclosure. Would this effect the performance of the speaker?
Third inquiry. Did you use the rear channel of your headunit or do you have the 4x6 on an amp?
Nevertheless, I really like your setup! Very clever and looks very professional!!!
