Rear Speakers in Headrest Vents
Has anyone tried putting rear speakers in the headrest vents? Maybe like a 4" speaker or something of that sort?
The rear speaker kit Ive been reading about doesnt seem like it would work well at high speeds with the top down. I think speakers in the headrest vents would be awsome and really make the driving experiance worth while hearing ur music blast right behind ur ears. Just my opinion if anyone has done this please reply.
Also those with the regular rear speaker conversion, can you actually hear music loud on the highway with the top down? Or is it only a bit louder than stock? Thanks.
P.S. so many questions becuz I just got an S2000 a few days ago and the stereo system IMO really sucks, and needs upgrading fast!

I have Boston Acoustic RX47's behind my seats powered by 25 watts from a JL 500/5, and the sound at speed is awesome IMO. I was also skeptical about the rears however, it does make a difference adds great fill. With the top down and doing 70+
I can make it so that you hear nothing but the stereo, and I don't even have a sub yet.

Yes, someone in TX (i believe) did something like this about a year ago. Not in the vents but in the roll bars themselves they held 5.25" MBs.
The rear speaker system works, hundreds (about 400 by me) of other S2000 owners have them and agree.

Wouldn't you have a bias to the mid and high end of the soubd spectrum placing them so close to your head. I recommend rear panel speakers, any stereo shop can put them in. Also, no substitute for a sub (12") in the trunk well and amp.
I have a little speaker for my navigation speaker mounted right behind the driver headrest. Its a 2" Alpine jobby. Gets very loud.
If you want directional sound right (and I mean right) in your ear, then that location would work.
I think if you are looking for fill sound you are better off with Lucids setup (IMO)
