Default Recommend on headunit

Hi guys, ive been using a fm transmitter to play mucis through my iphone. im sick and tired of the unstable connection that caused alot of noises

therefore ive decided to replace my stock headunit. im searching it for few days but not decided which one yet. here are my requirements.

My requirements:
Red LED panel (want to match my interior)
Rear USB cable that supports iphone4 (no front usb pls, i dont want anything around my shifter)

Optional:
Bluetooth connection, not a necessary but its a plus if it comes with it

price: ANY (I'll be hunting a used one on ebay)

i see pioneer has a few models with red LED but they are all front usb design
clarion cz200 has rear usb but blue LED.
any other suggestions?

Thanks

I personally have the Alpine CDA-105. it has a rear output USB that i ran down the center console and into the glove box. And with the CDA-105 you have the option to change the back-lighting to either red or blue.

I just bought and installed a Sony DSX-S300 BTX‏ - it has an Internal USB and a front one. It also has the option for Red or Blue LEDs, bluetooth streaming, and bluetooth for the phone (though it's kinda far, haven't tried it yet). The only problem is that you probably won't get good reception with the phone inside the HU, but check it out anyway =)

I have this model, and love it. In addition to the innovative internal USB device "garage", it has a full complement of parametric EQ, time alignment, crossovers, etc. Why would you put your phone in the HU? I leave either a Nano or a cheap 32gb thumb drive filled w/ my iTunes library. BT streaming works great for Pandora, etc., and I have the OPTION to plug into the front USB port if I need to charge the phone. BT phone is just OK, but I'm using the internal mic and not an external one. Love having no extra wires, cables, or modules!

do you know when you connect your iphone into the usb port, does it charge the battery and play music at the same time?

I'm pretty sure my CDA-105 charges whatever unit its connected to. You can only select the color of the left 6 square buttons. There is an option to change them between blue and red. The unit doesn't have a very strong EQ out of the box though, so depending on the speakers you have and their frequency response it may or may not be an issue.

There's no audio and power cable. There's a harness. You need a harness for your head unit and you may need to solder. If you go with Alpine, Modifry has a PnP harness that you just plug in. You'll probably want to connect the antenna and cable to your iPhone/iPod as well.

If you want to retain your dash controls you'll need a DCI. Modifry's DCI is always highly recommended.

Take a look at the DIY AP2 Head Unit thread.

Headset profile only? A2DP? AVRCP? All three?

Best is always subjective, period. Care to qualify exactly why you think it's best so others can assess how it fits in with their own needs/wants?
