I personally have the Alpine CDA-105. it has a rear output USB that i ran down the center console and into the glove box. And with the CDA-105 you have the option to change the back-lighting to either red or blue.
do you know when you connect your iphone into the usb port, does it charge the battery and play music at the same time?
well i only use an iPod. (Android ftw). but it charges my ipod and plays it at the same time.

So with the cda-105 can you select songs from your ipod as well, or you can only pick songs from the headunit display?

I have an identical setup and am pretty happy with it.

and i have my stock speaker, when i install a aftermarket headunit, just simply plug in the original audio and power cable and thats it?
There's no audio and power cable. There's a harness. You need a harness for your head unit and you may need to solder. If you go with Alpine, Modifry has a PnP harness that you just plug in. You'll probably want to connect the antenna and cable to your iPhone/iPod as well.

If you want to retain your dash controls you'll need a DCI. Modifry's DCI is always highly recommended.

Take a look at the DIY AP2 Head Unit thread.

Headset profile only? A2DP? AVRCP? All three?

Best is always subjective, period. Care to qualify exactly why you think it's best so others can assess how it fits in with their own needs/wants?

so if i go for aftermarket unit, it is required to get a modifry harness to work with it?

I've had head units from Alpine and Pioneer over the years, but I really like the Sony DSX-S200X in my S2K. The ability to stow my ipod inside the HU is what made me give it consideration initially, and the features and functionality sold me. Combined with an amp, component speaker replacement and a DCI, it's clean, functions properly and sounds great. I couldn't be happier with my decision.

I uses Pioneer MVH-8200BT looks the cleanest with the biggest LCD screen and all the colors can customize to match the s2000 interior lights but have front USB...

my second choice was Kenwood KIV-BT901
