Default Recommended Amp For Focals

Looking into upgrading the speakers like pretty much everybody else who owns a S, but i want to do the components before i add a sub. So im looking at Focal 165 A1's, anybody have any input on them? also whats a few different amps recommended to push them nicely?

Personally Im not a fan of Focal, should look into Hybrid Audio Techonoligies. http://www.hybrid-audio.com/

Recently Mosconi AS Series amps are very popular should look into that. http://www.mosconi-system.it/

I personally uses Arc Audio SE2075. http://www.arcaudio....ries/se2075.asp

Here is my audio install, https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/845...-audio-install

Why should the OP use your speaker preference? At least clarify a bit so the OP can evaluate if your reasoning is relevant or not.

i would look at a 3-4 channel amp, use 2 channels for mids-highs, and rest for sub, i have had great success with the JL XD 500/3
http://www.jlaudio.com/xd500-3-car-a...plifiers-98267

and many of the alpine amps

all will fit in trunk, to the left of the spare tire (above gass tank), hidden out of site and take up no room, easy to get to, just remove trunk liner

Well I find in general Focal sounds very thin and overly bright with their metal tweeter. And at this Focal 165 price range there arent anything that can perform like the HAT Imagine I61-2. Not to say the HAT Imagine I61-2 are Coaxial speakers which makes mounting a lot easier in the S2000 especially in the AP1 interior.

Some comparison between these 2 products

Yes thats another amp I would recommend as well.

Also look into
JL Audio Slash-v2 300/4

Alpine PDX F4 for their small size

Personally I don't like the ear piercing/bright speakers.
