Default Remote 'convert'

While my dreams of purchasing the S2000 have been put on hold, funds diverted for a house, I'm forced to fantasize about the fun things that can be done to the car. I've seen people talking about using electric window automators for the top, and remote start setups. But what I want to do I haven't found on this site yet.

I want a button on my keychain that will ...

Start the car
Lower the windows
Put down the top
Turn on the stereo

I guess most of that is already being done in other cars. But dropping the top would be the difficult part with no simple way to release the latches. Servos could be used - or simply sensors to check if it ready and the user is responsible for poping them before they leave.

Thoughts? It just seems like it would be cool to walk out of a friend's house and press a button in your pocket and your car 'transforms' in front of everyone.

Is that too much Bling for Modifry, 'cause he's the man who could wire it.

But, sure why not? Yup, it totally could be done. Neat dream....

Ok....

1) To start the car, get a remote start. This is a bad idea in a manual transmission car though.

2) Rolling the windows down can be done, but with LOTS of work.

3) Top is impossble. There is no way to undo the latches electronically.

4) Why???!!!

That's much work to look cool in front of your friends... I just get a new shirt, or a fancy new pocket protector. That seems to impress my friends.

i agree though -- that would be a whole lot of work, and a great deal of risk entailed. i can see the impress the friends qualities though...

still - if your friends aren't simply impressed by the S itself, is a remote 'prep her to go' feature really going to get their attention? and more importantly - how often will you be able to use it? if it costs you $2000 to implement it, but you only use it 10 times before it gets old, that's $200 a shot... hardly economically reasonable.

The windows down option isnt hard if you have an aftermarket alarm. Its a plug in module for most brands...mine go down with the key fob

The rest of the project is VERY DAUNTING
