Does that unit automatically adjust the volume with speed?

I don't believe so. Hooking it up using the SVC of the DCI will.

Yes, if you order Modifry's DCI with this feature it will do it! I have it for my Alpine and it works GREAT!

Yes correct. If your going order a dci just get the scv add on. You don't have to wire it up or use it if you don't want to.

This is the problem that I am having with the JVC KD-DB95BT DAB - the cover hits the volume dial which when pressed mutes the music! I am going to see if I can sit the head unit any further back...

Look at adjusting the metal tabs on the head unit to position the screws so the HU sirs back a quarter inch. The other option is to replace the knob with a shallow one.

OP,

I have a Pioneer 6400 which has all of those features except the rear USB, and it's honestly great. One thing to note with the iphone stuff - I just went from a 5 to a 5s, and was using a non-apple lightning cable because I wanted a black one to not clash with the interior - the 5S will not recognize an aftermarket cable.

I wouldn't recommend the module crtuchfield does for your steering wheel controls though, as you'll have to hack into the factory harness behind the connector, which is a PITA. Instead you should go to modifry.com and buy a wired DCI. It was easy to wire, comes with it's own special harness so you aren't hacking up any wires, making it easily reversible, and it's just slightly more expensive than the Axxess part.

Plug for modifry - he makes great stuff for our cars, I have the dash bracket and camera mount as well.

Apple licenses the right to use their lighting cable so non-Apple aftermarket cables should work as long as they're licensed.

Well apparently the ones they sell by the register at Bed Bath & beyond are not licensed.

I bought few 5s cables for my sister from ebay and they work perfectly fine. They aren't from apple either.
