Angry Roof won't come down

I put my car in to the local garage for a diff and trans oil replacement, in the morning I had the roof down driving there and put the roof back up as I parked up. Since bringing the car back the roof won't go down, there is no movement in the roof at all. The hand brake is up, latches undone etc, is there anything that could have been unplugged when changing the tile?

I have unclipped the centre console and the wiring looks fine, I also cut the black and white cable incase the brake sensor had gone but I am now out of ideas? Anybody had this before, is there anything else I could try?

Thanks

They shouldn't have had a reason to remove the console. But if they did, its all too easy to mistakenly swap the plugs for roof switch and defroster.

Learned lesson to always check roof switch before snapping console back down.

So try swapping the plugs. Um, I think its defroster. Maybe its emergency flashers? Anyway, 3 plugs under there, 2 can swap, other one physically fits one place only. So whichever 2 can be swapped, try swapping them.

If this fixes it, maybe that shop doesn't know what they're doing and are idiots. Or maybe they went over and above and regreased your shifter pivot too. I'd ask them why they removed console cover.

Also, check your fuses. I believe it's #8 and #12 fuse.

Thanks will give that a go, I thought the trans oil would be from underneath the car so no need to touch anything inside. Fingers crossed its that simple

Correct, no reason really to have to remove the console cover to change gearbox oil. Unless they were trying to snake a tube and funnel down to fill it? Which is silly since you just do that from underneath with a fluid pump.

I tried the cables under the centre console, they all look to be fine. Is there an easy way to get the fuses out?

Am I right in saying if the windows go down then the module controlling the roof should be fine as they are the same thing? Hitting a bit of a wall with this problem now

They look fine? Did you swap them to check if plugged into correct place?

When they're backwards, they'll still 'look' fine.

e (emergency) brake/ handbrake are the same thing, just different terminologies used across the pond.
