Installed mine this week - great fit, looks good - as was mentioned sounds a lot better.

One comment question though - running Alpine SPR136 and when cranked up/on certain songs they hit the S-Pod cover making this annoying vibrating sound.

Any advice? Should I mount the speakers behind the alu mounting plate?

Good stuff Mark, quick service!

Thore

(with the only S-Pods in Norway????)

Wade,

You weren't to far off. It took me all night to get one done. The Focal 136K had some issues. The metal on the speaker was getting in the way of the bolts and plastic pins. I had to mount it from the back and make some of the holes bigger. Also, had to make the mounting hole bigger in order to be able to move the speaker around to get it to fit. Here's one nights work. Tomorrow night will not take me all night because now I know what needs done.

Although I will say that the one I did get installed sound marvelous!!! I will have to tune the S-pods out a little because they are powerful. 125 Watts RMS pounding through these bad boys.

Thanks Mark for a great product

A note to those reading who have read the above post...

As you can see Jim's installation was difficult. The two of us had great communication before this install. He was concerned about the Focals fitment so... I CAREFULLY checked out all the specs on the Focal web site and slightly enlarged the large opening to accommidate. According to the diagrams this looked like a slam dunk install, all the necessary measurements looked PERFECT!

PLEASE if you are considering a set of S-Pods, let me know before ordering the brand/model of speakers you plan to use. HOPEFULLY we can avoid any fitment issues beforehand. Another option would be to buy the S-Pods, and then take the mounting plate to your local retailer... insureing a perfect fit.

Jim,
Thanks for being so patient with your install, this sure isn't typical.

Again, I just want to thank Mark for a great product and great communication. I knew going in that the Focal might cause some difficulty, therefore, Mark and I had several conversation. Alot of the time last night was making sure that before I did anything it was going to give me the final outcome I was looking for. Tonight when I do the other one I'm sure I will be able to do it in an hour or less.

I highly recommend the S-Pod! I can't wait to get the other one installed and the system tune! The quality of the work is second to none!

Thanks again Mark.
